Marala Headworks is a headwork that is located in the city of Sialkot, in the province of Punjab, on the Chenab River. The Chenab River offers stunning scenery and a view from Head Marala that people enjoy for swimming and fishing.
Head Marala was initially built in 1906 to meet the needs of the Upper Chenab Canal but a new Marala Barrage was established in 1968 to meet the needs of Marala Ravi Link Canal along with the Upper Chenab Canal.
Marala Headworks is a substantial hydro-engineering project. Marala Headworks is used to control the flow of water and control the flood in the Chenab River. Besides, Marala Headworks is a picnic spot and a wildlife preserve. People from around the city come to visit this beautiful place because of the refreshing view and mesmerizing landscape.
There are no restaurants or food facilities however, the food is either brought from home or bought from restaurants as take out and eaten here.

مرالہ ہیڈ ورکس ایک ہیڈ ورک ہے یہ صوبہ پنجاب کے شہر سیالکوٹ میں دریائے چناب پر واقع ہے یہ ابتدائی طور پر 1906 میں اپر چناب کینال کی ضروریات کو پورا کرنے کے لیے بنایا گیا تھا لیکن اپر چناب کینال کے ساتھ مرالہ راوی لنک کینال کی ضروریات کو پورا کرنے کے لیے 1968 میں ایک نیا مرالہ بیراج قائم کیا گیا۔
مرالہ ہیڈ ورکس ہائیڈرو انجینئرنگ کا ایک اہم منصوبہ ہے۔ مرالہ ہیڈ ورکس پانی کے بہاؤ کو کنٹرول کرنے اور دریائے چناب میں سیلاب کو کنٹرول کرنے کے لیے استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ، مرالہ ہیڈ ورکس پکنک کی جگہ اور جنگلی حیات کا تحفظ ہے۔ تازگی بخش نظارے اور مسحور کن مناظر کی وجہ سے شہر کے آس پاس سے لوگ اس خوبصورت جگہ کو دیکھنے آتے ہیں۔
یہاں کوئی ریستوراں یا کھانے کی سہولیات نہیں ہیں تاہم کھانا یا تو گھر سے لایا جاتا ہے یا ریستوراں سے خریدا جاتا ہے جیسا کہ یہاں باہر سے لے کر کھایا جاتا ہے۔ ہیڈ مرالہ دریائے چناب کے ساتھ خوبصورت منظر پیش کرتا ہے جس سے مقامی لوگ تیراکی اور ماہی گیری سے لطف اندوز ہوتے ہیں۔
